College Connection Parties:

We are planning small get-togethers in homes to welcome students and help them get connected to the life of the church! If you are a college student who would like to attend a party, we will have sign-up sheets available after service this Sunday! Additionally, you can sign up online by clicking HERE!

Below are the current party offerings:

1.    Saturday, September 18th @ 5:00pm – Cookout for up to 10 students.
2.    Saturday, September 25th @ 5:00pm – Homemade dinner for 4 students.
3.    Saturday September 25th @ 7:00pm – Fire pit and s’mores for up to 20 students.

Lifegroups:

This past Sunday, we announced our Lifegroup offerings for the fall of 2021! If you are interested in joining a lifegroup, have a question for one of the leaders, or want to know more information, please visit the Lifegroups page on our website!

Antioch Equipping Classes - Fall 2021:

Equipping classes are designed to help you strengthen your faith and grow in
your walk with the Lord. Whether you are new to faith, or have been walking
with the Lord for years, we have classes to help you develop a firm foundation
in the Word of God

Details:
-Dates: Begins Wednesday, October 6 - Wednesday, November 10 (approx)
-Classes run 6-8 weeks (depending on the class) - Once a week
-Time: ~7:30pm - 9:00pm // ~1.5-2 hrs per week
-Cost: $25/course plus cost of materials
-Location: Via Zoom

Fall 2021 Equipping Class Information:

Foundations of Faith: Character of God - Alyssa Tocci (6 Week Course):
Looking to learn some foundations of your faith? In this video series on the Character of God by the Bible Project, you will discover some of the key characteristics of God that are seen throughout the Bible. We will use the Discovery Bible Study technique to gain revelation of “the Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin.” Exodus 34:6-7.

Growing in God - John Prickett (6 Week Course):
Have you ever longed for more growth in your relationship with God? Do you wish you were more of a mature disciple of Jesus than you currently are? Growing in God explores how to set oneself up for a lifetime of growth in relating to God and maturing as His child. When we begin our relationship with God, we begin a life-long journey of growth and maturity in Christ. While our growth in God is anything but linear, there are some time-tested truths and proven practices that position God’s kids to gradually grow and mature over the long haul. Participants will engage with their head, hands and heart as they interact with Biblical teaching and practical training that can be applied in everyday life.

Biblical Justice Creating Oases of Equity in an Unjust World - Pierce VanDunk (8 Week Course):
This course explores the theme of justice in the Bible and theology. Drawing from a variety of sources, it establishes a framework from which to understand justice and goes deeper into specific justice-related topics, including but not limited to race, economics, and gender disparities. Students can expect to be intellectually stimulated and, prayerfully, spurred to action.

Volunteers Needed/Virtual Training Provided:

Amirah is an organization which provides aftercare, resources, and opportunities to women who have survived different forms of sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, and prostitution. They are currently in need of volunteers (ages 18+). The next volunteer training is being held virtually on September and 23rd, 7:00pm-8:30 pm. Women's Retreat - Intentionally Placed:

Lion of Judah is hosting an all day women's retreat which we are invited to be a part of. In fact, two of our Antioch ladies will be speaking that day (Dorothy Greco and Tulia VanDunk - both from Antioch Waltham)! The Synergist Women’s Ministry of Congregation Lion of Judah in Boston is hosting the Intentionally Placed conference for Women on October 2nd.

Intentionally Placed will provide space for you, as a Christian woman, to connect with others, build your personal faith, ask scary and hard questions, and be motivated to learn how your life fits into God’s overall plan for the advancement of His kingdom. Our speakers will lead workshops on our spheres of influence: relationships at home and in the workplace, community engagement, and faith. You will be challenged to think through what it means to be a Christian woman in a complex world.

Come with an open heart and mind to learn. We are excited to have you at this in-person conference, on Saturday, October 2nd, at Congregation Lion of Judah! The conference will run from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
