COACH Workshop

You may have come across this page and thought, “why is a church offering a coaching workshop”?

Good question, and, to us, the answer is simple: we believe in individual personal and professional development!  We believe that coaching can be a powerful tool to add to your tool belt in order to see transformation in all aspects of life, from the executive board room to parents raising their children.

Have you ever been in a conversation where you were asked (or maybe you did the asking) a question that opened your eyes to something you hadn’t previously thought of - what is frequently referred to as “aha!” moments? You know, those times when a new realization or point of view gives you new hope, focus or momentum?

Imagine using coaching to get to those “aha!” moments in every conversation you have…you can experience that when you use the tools you will be taught in this workshop.  And, the good news is that you can use it with your employees (some have been known to use it with their managers!), co-workers, and even your children!

What is professional coaching?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:

  • Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
  • Encourage client self-discovery
  • Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
  • Hold the client responsible and accountable

This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.

Workshop facilitator Mark Buckner will be referencing the COACH material pioneered by Keith Webb of Creative Results Management.
